College Basketball: Top 10 2015 NBA draft prospects
By Bryce Olin
3. Kevon Looney, UCLA Bruins
NBA Doppelganger: Lamar Odom
I feel bad for Kevon Looney because he’s been put in such a precarious situation as a freshman.
UCLA isn’t that good of a team, but Kevon Looney is basically holding it all together. Without him, the Bruins would be awful.
So far at UCLA, Looney has been a double-double machine, which is a great sign for NBA teams and will likely secure Looney as a top-10 pick in the draft.

Looney is one of those rare, freakishly tall guys with good handles and a good jumpshot. When he was in high school, Looney drew a lot of comparisons to Kevin Durant because of his body type and perimeter-style of play.
As Looney has progressed, I can still see the Durant comparisons, but Looney is actually going to be a player very similar to Lamar Odom. Looney has the handles and ability to bring the ball up the court, just like Odom. He has a good looking jumper, and he plays down low and on the boards as well as anyone in the country.
The next thing we know Looney is going to be marrying a Kardashian and on their stupid reality show. He does live in Los Angeles, after all.
Next: Karl-Anthony Towns
