Ohio State Buckeyes football players had to hurdle cheerleaders to avoid trampling them before the National Championship game on Monday night.

You’ve seen it before, football teams trampling cheerleaders on their way out to the field. Typically those videos come from high school football games, not Division I programs running out onto the field for a nationally televised game, let alone a national Championship game.

That is exactly what happened to the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday night though. Ahead of their game against the Oregon Ducks for the National Championship, Ohio State players had to hurdle Oregon players to avoid trampling them as they ran out onto the field.

Here is another photo of the incident from a different angle, also from USA Today. You can see that it was taking at nearly the same moment and can see the lineman tripping over the cheerleader.

When you factor in the fact that an Ohio State spirit squad misspelled Ohio with the flags as they ran out onto the field, it is a rough night for Ohio State spirit.
