Cardale Jones shocked a lot of people on Thursday with the announcement that he will be returning to Ohio State in 2015.

Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones, who just completed one of the most amazing three-game stretches for a signal caller in the history of college football, announced that he will be returning to the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2015.

Earlier in the day on Thursday, Jones announced that he would be holding a press conference in Cleveland, which led many to believe that he would be departing for the NFL with all the hype surrounding him, since the presser was being held away from Columbus.

However, he ended up pulling a giant swerve on the media, who had speculated all day long that he would be off to the NFL Draft.

After second-string quarterback J.T. Barrett was injured during the final regular season game of the year against Michigan, Jones, who started the year as the third-stringer, took over and never looked back. He led the team to a 59-0 rout of Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game, but it was in his next outing where he really opened everyone’s eyes.

Jones was thrust into the biggest spotlight imaginable when he and the No. 4 seeded Buckeyes took on the No. 1 team in the country, the Alabama Crimson Tide, in the Sugar Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal. With most saying that this would be the moment he would be brought back down to earth, all he did was go 18-for-35 with 243 yards and a touchdown against that vaunted Alabama defense. He also added 43 yards on the ground on 17 carries.

Now the question turns to how Ohio State will handle the QB situation in 2015.
