Daniel Bryan has confirmed who his original WrestleMania 30 opponent was supposed to be, and it would have left people wanting more.

When Daniel Bryan defeated Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton all in the same night at WrestleMania 30, WWE fans were thrilled to see a wrestler like Bryan, who is seemingly loved by everyone, hoist the WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt over his head.

However, Bryan winning the WWE title was never originally in the plans.

The fact that Daniel Bryan was such a big fan favorite forced the WWE’s hand into writing the championship storyline for Bryan, while they had originally planned a match that would have left people wanting more.

What was Plan A? A match with Sheamus for the third time in four years. *yawn*

Daniel Bryan confirmed the news in an interview with Newsday:

"“I can tell you 100 percent for a fact that I was not supposed to be in the main event at WrestleMania 30,” Bryan said.He said he initially was supposed to face Sheamus in the fifth or sixth match, but truly got the last laugh leading up to the show when fan reaction forced WWE’s hand.“That is one of the coolest things about WWE and wrestling in general,” Bryan said. “The fans have this very unique voice, and this very unique power, and in no other sport and no other form of entertainment can the fans make their voices heard and it affect change.”"

This may be one of the true rare occassions where the fan voice mattered in sports or entertainment, and Daniel Bryan got a championship as a result of the fan support.
