MLB Bobby Wagner

The Seahawks have stars all over their defense, and their secondary may be the best in the league with Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas leading the way.

However, Wagner just may be the most important player on the defense. He is not going to get a lot of headlines, sacks or interceptions. He is simply a brilliant tackler (104 tackles) who is going to bring down any ball carrier he can get his hands on.

Yes, he will be challenged by the power of Blount, but he is going to bring at least as much force as the New England running back. He is also going to be asked to cover Gronkowski, and he has a chance to do a solid job with that assignment.

Wagner is tough, athletic, smart and efficient. He does a good job of running the Seattle defense as the game unfolds and is perhaps the most overlooked player in the league.

Wagner missed five games earlier in the season due to turf toe. Since his return, the Seahawks have been the best defensive team in the NFL.

This fact is not lost on the Patriots, who must account for him on every play.
