Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians believes that starting quarterback Carson Palmer will be back from his torn ACL by June’s mandatory training camp.

QB Carson Palmer and the Arizona Cardinals were the NFC’s best team for a good chunk of the 2014 regular season, but unfortunately a torn ACL would end his season early. Backup quarterback Drew Stanton also went down with a knee injury, and the Cardinals fell to the Carolina Panthers in the first round of the NFL Playoffs.

Head coach Bruce Arians saw his team completely collapse due to injuries, but he is excited to get next season underway. Arians appears to believe that Palmer will be able to get back on the field with the time by June’s mandatory mini camp.

Throughout the 2014 season, Palmer threw for 1,626 yards, 11 touchdowns and just three interceptions in six games. Those numbers are impressive to say the least, but the Cardinals need him to stay on the field in order to make a run at a championship. Arizona could use some work this offseason on both sides of the football, especially if Larry Fitzgerald does end up leaving.

At 35 years of age, there simply isn’t much top-notch football left in Palmer. He played one of the best early seasons of his career this year, but of course the injury halted that early. The Cardinals have quite a bit of talent on the offensive side of the football in John Brown, Andre Ellington and Michael Floyd, but Fitzgerald is without a doubt their leader.

It is going to be very intriguing to see what the Cardinals end up doing this coming offseason, and what Palmer is able to do next year. He has done very well since the Cardinals brought him on board, and it was obvious how much he meant to them when he went down with the injury. His leadership was underrated throughout the season, and he was able to make the necessary plays with his arm that neither Stanton or Ryan Lindley could.

Needless to say, the Cardinals are hoping that he is back and good to go for next season. He should get back at some point during the summer in time to get some work in during the offseason and get back to full strength for the start of the regular season. Arizona is going to be a forced to be reckoned with once again, but they need their starting quarterback on the field.
