New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady might have identified himself as the prime suspect in ‘Deflate-Gate’.

If you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know, The New England Patriots are being investigated by the NFL after it emerged that 11 out of 12 of the ball they used in the AFC championship game were under-inflated. This would give them an advantage due to the fact balls that have a little more give in them, are easier to carry, throw and catch, particularly in inclement and cold weather.  Earlier today head coach Bill Belichick held a press conference and was bombarded with questions from the media regarded the ‘Deflate-Gate’ scandal. Belichick denied any knowledge of wrong doing in a long opening statement and subsequent responses to repeated questions and claimed that he has never touched a football in his career as coach.

Though the Patriots coach held his cards close to his chest, he did say that quarterback Tom Brady could shine a light on matters. Was it an off the cuff remark or was he implying that Tom was responsible for the under-inflated footballs which has launched an investigation by the NFL?

"“Tom’s personal preferences on his footballs are something that he can talk about in much better detail and information than I couldn’t possibly provide,” Belichick continued with. “I have no explanation for what happened.”"

NBC News have recently reported that Tom Brady has held a meeting with team mates to discuss the situation. While telling them to keep their mind on the Super Bowl, he told them that he likes the football “a certain way.: Does this “certain way” include breaking the rules and under-inflating the balls for a better grip Tom? Brady laughed off reports on monday when he was quizzed about the footballs.

"“I think I’ve heard it all now”- Tom Brady"

With round the clock coverage of the event, and the fact that it seems Bill Belichick threw his quarterback (excuse the pun) under the bus earlier, it seems as though the entire nation is holding it’s breath for an explanation.

Whether or not the truth comes out before the Super Bowl, everyone wants to know who is to blame for breaking NFL rules by deflating the balls up to 15 percent. Nearly everyone is in agreement that the balls used wouldn’t have changed the outcome of the game as the Colts were awful on the day, but regardless of the outcome people want answers given the Patriots history of breaking league rules.

It seems as though the only person who can give them is the Patriots quarterback, who will address the media on Thursday.
