Bad British Commentary: CFP National Championship

A British man calls Oregon vs Ohio State College Football National Championship game and hilarity ensues.

As a non American, I wouldn’t be much better than this man at calling a football game. Though I don’t think I would be quite as idiotic because I have some grasp of the game.

This is a video obviously done for the humor aspect more so than the educational. This British man calls the College Football Playoff Championship game and brings a touch of innocence, naivety and humor to the table. He starts off by saying it’s nice that they are letting the children play, but worries if it will effect their studies.

He uses Rugby terminology throughout the video and refers to one play as “a bouncy castle of Spandex”.

Whoever it was who came up with the idea for British people to commentate on American sports, deserves a medal or a hug or even both! He even managed to get some soccer talk in to the mix by comparing the referees to EPL team Newcastle United due to the black and white uniforms.

The commentator is also concerned about the ‘Vandalism on the field’ that will have to be removed before the game can continue.

He was of course referring to the line markings on the field, which he believes to be a “stubborn stain”. The British man is obviously confused about the scoring system, he believes that the touchdown was only worth 6 points because the judges weren’t as impressed with his form… Over all this is a witty and clever piece that’s definitely worth a view and a giggle.
