Chinese fans and new year celebrated on Warriors uniforms

Hoping to attract millions of new Chinese fans, the Golden State Warriors will sport special uniforms on February 20th when they play the San Antonio Spurs.

"“The Asian American population is very important to us,” said Chip Bowers, the team’s chief marketing officer. “We’re the Bay Area’s NBA team and we’re very bullish on building a stronger relationship.”"

The Asian inspired uni’s feature:

– The colors red and yellow. (Yellow? What?!?! Cue the oversensitive race wimps perceiving unintended injustice.)

– Warriors spelled in Mandarin. (Cool.)

– A sheep for the animal marking 2015 of the Chinese new year. (Cool.)

– Players numbers will represent the corresponding menu item at most Chinese restaurants. (Kidding.)

– Those mother$&%(*#% short sleeeves. (Damn!)

Special edition uniforms, especially novelty uniforms are a great way to honor citizens of a foreign  country, the fans and most popularly, the armed forces.

We applaud the Warriors creativity, thoughtfulness and tireless ability to grab at more cash. A shame the celebration stops at the uniforms. It’d be cool if officials would crack open a fortune cookie after every turnover to determine the penalty of the infraction.

The Warriors will wear the uniforms for the three following games as well.
