In what was a pretty epic point guard battle in the Hawks and Trail Blazers game Friday night, Jeff Teague was able to block a three-point attempt from Damian Lillard. This game was played at a pretty high level of intensity, and some would even say it had a playoff type of appeal, as the best team in the Eastern conference squared off against the current 3rd best team in the Western Conference.
Teague and the Hawks got the last laugh in the game as well as the Hawks are able to fend off the Trail Blazers 105-99. Teague was able to bother Lillard enough on the defensive end to hold Lillard to 6-of-20 shooting. Lillard was still able to manage 13 points, 11 assists and six rebounds in the losing effort.
Teague was mildly more efficient in the point guard duel finishing with 6-17 shots for 13 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. LaMarcus Aldridge led all scorers with 37 points and 11 rebounds nearly duplicating his numbers from his previous game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
This was the second time the two teams have met this season with the Hawks sweeping the Trail Blazers.
