Marshawn Lynch, the Seattle Seahawks reticent running back in front of the media and Beast Mode on the field, has a sponsor for all the fines he’s been getting lately.

Marshawn Lynch, otherwise known as Beast Mode, has been getting into a little bit of trouble with the NFL of late, as he can’t seem to stay off the fine list. If it’s not fines for not talking to the media, it’s fines for grabbing his crotch on the field, usually just before scoring touchdowns. Not to mention the potential fines for equipment violations that haven’t quite panned out yet. However, Beast Mode has a new backer in his corner now.

The underwear company MeUndies is planning to help Lynch out, in more ways than one.

Per ESPN:

"“Marshawn is under scrutiny for a pain we’ve all felt, and we stepped in to help Beast Mode with great fitting, non-riding underwear,” the company said in a statement. “MeUndies empowers people to express themselves freely in the midst of any situation, and eliminates the need to readjust down there.”"

You read that correctly. MeUndies is giving Lynch the benefit of the doubt and suggesting that he has underwear problems, not that he’s flouting any kind of rule. Not only that, but they intend to match his fines in the Super Bowl, should he get any. They also said they would be donating $20,000 to Lynch’s Fam 1st Family Foundation for his most recent fine, as well as $20,000 up to $100,000 for every touchdown he scores in the Super Bowl.

That’s pretty cool and sticking it to the league and all, but there is one small problem. The league has also said that the Seahawks will be penalized 15 yards if Lynch, uh, adjusts his undies during the game. The penalty would be assessed on the ensuing kickoff, assuming he does it after a score. The league didn’t specify if Lynch would also receive a fine afterwards as well.

This makes it unlikely that he would do the gesture during the game unless it was well in hand with the Seahawks far ahead, also unlikely as it’s shaping up to be a contest far different from last year when Seattle blew out Denver by the second half.

Beast Mode has been racking up the endorsement deals during the Super Bowl leadup. The one with MeUndies is the third, along with Skittles and Progressive.
