Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch and the the Seattle Seahawks offense responds quickly to Tom Brady’s strike for the first TD of the Super Bowl.

As NBC’s Chris Collinsworth so appropriately said just a few minutes ago: “Now we have a Super Bowl.”

Quickly and emphatically responding to the first touchdown of Super Bowl XLIX  — where Tom Brady hit wideout Brandon LaFell on a slant — Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks offense traveled 70 yards on eight-plays in only 4:51 to tie the game at seven.

Marshawn Lynch further cemented his nickname as “Beast Mode” by taking a Wilson handoff and powering his way to a three-yard touchdown.

The story of the game early on was the fact that Brady is enjoying a lot of success with his familiar short-to-intermediate passing game. Surprising considering how aggressive and vanilla Seattle plays on defense.

Flip the units and almost the same defensive philosophy is being seen. Bill Belichick is loading the box and daring Wilson to throw the ball.

Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner, Devin McCourty and company have been smothering Seahawk weapons on every play. Every play, well, until Wilson burned them deep.

Little-known receiver Chris Matthews beat his man for a 44-yard reception which helped set up the game-tying touchdown.

It’s incredible that both quarterbacks are facing one-on-one coverage everywhere down the field and the score is only 7-7. Expect the QB who softens the defense the most in this one to have more success.
