Super Bowl XLIX had the New England Patriots defeating the Seattle Seahawks in one of the best championship games to date.

The NFL season is (sadly) officially over, but it went out with a bang as the Patriots beat the Seahawks 28-24 in a thrilling game that went down to the wire after a stretch of amazing plays.

It’s easy to be a prisoner of the moment, and a lot of people are already calling this the greatest Super Bowl ever – and with good reason.

Super Bowl XLIX had pretty much everything you could ask for in a final game: huge plays, stars being stars, wildcard players coming out of nowhere and a whole lot of drama.

Tom Brady went on to win a record-tying third Super Bowl MVP award after he had one of his best postseason games ever by completing 37/50 of his passes for 328 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.

Julian Edelman had the most catches (9), tied for the most receiving yards (109) and added a touchdown on the day.

More from NFL

Rob Gronkowski also put in a heck of an effort for his first Super Bowl victory: six catches for 68 yards and one touchdown.

Although Seattle lost, they still had a trio of players that made their fair share of big plays.

Russell Wilson only completed 12/21 of his passes, but he still managed to throw for 247 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

Marshawn Lynch was his normal Beast Mode self by gaining 133 total yards and getting into the end zone once.

Chris Matthews was the big storyline for most of the game as he came into the game with zero catches in his career but was able to catch four balls for 109 yards and a touchdown against New England.

There were probably at least 15 really big plays from Super Bowl XLIX, but these are my top 10.
