The Seattle Seahawks are going to throw a parade despite not winning the Super Bowl
The pain is still fresh in Seattle after last night’s heart breaking defeat at the hands of the New England Patriots, but reports have come out that the Seahawks will still be having a parade to celebrate the team’s incredible run.
Seattle took the Super Bowl right down to the wire on Sunday night, and there is a massive investigation taking place over the decision to throw the ball with 30 seconds remaining while they still had a time out and it was only the second down. Despite this bitter defeat, there will be a parade to celebrate an amazing season.
According to mynorthwest.com the city will wait for the Seahawks lead in regards to a celebration but there are plans in place for the parade.
“The Seahawks are a class act,”Mayor Murray said. “While tonight’s outcome was heartbreaking, the team played with tremendous heart and guts to the very end. They never quit. Even when others were ready to count them out, whether early in the season or during their playoff run, the Hawks and the 12s always believed. All of Seattle is proud of everything they accomplished this year and I know we’ll be back next year.”
There has been a lot of negative feedback on Twitter about throwing a parade for the losing team, which I think is more than a little harsh. Here is an example of of some of the negativity:
Seattle's going to have a parade for the Seahawks? That's adorable. Maybe they can all get participation ribbons too while they're at it.

In my opinion, if a city want to show appreciation for tremendous athletes who did their fans proud and pushed so close to a second consecutive title, what’s the harm? If you’re not from Seattle, why do you care? Let them have their celebration. I’m in agreement with this fan who took to Twitter to voice their opinion.
It was a Super Bowl to remember and I for one think that both teams should be proud of the night, the world watched on in awe as they did battle.
