A look at the All-22 video of Super Bowl XLIX shows that Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch may have pulled off a crotch grab.

Of all the riveting stories to emerge from Super Bowl XLIX, few matched the intrigue of Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch just being Marshawn Lynch. We hung on every word (all four of them) during his press conferences and we watched in awe as he played Mortal Kombat with Conan in one of the best videos ever.

Among one of his many fine-worthy actions taken this year, one of his most memorable was his celebratory ‘crotch grab’ first sighted in the NFC Championship Game. Many wondered if it would return in the Super Bowl and in the moment after Lynch score a touchdown, many thought it had. We chuckled as the referees declined to throw a flag, thinking Lynch had gotten one over on the officials.

No such luck though, as a closer look reveals that if Lynch was going for a crotch grab, it was cleverly veiled as a handshake, per CBS Sports. Or was it? Take a look for yourselves to decide.

The evidence appears inconclusive here, and you could go either way with it. Still, many who watched the game live thought something was up. If you track his left hand throughout the action after the touchdown, you can see it hardly ever leaves the crotch area, and let’s just hope we never have to type that clause again.

We also enjoyed the camera just flying up toward the goal line as if desperately trying to confirm the actions of the Beast. Too late, camera guy. What’s done is done.

The most conclusive evidence we have may be from the live audience, half of whom were probably reporting to ESPN’s resident news breaker, Adam Schefter.

We sincerely hope those concerned are able to find Marshawn Lynch and his ghost hand so we can all have some closure in this hotly controversial issue.
