Kendrick Perkins suspended one game for being Kendrick Perkins
By Josh Hill
The Oklahoma City Thunder are going to be without Kendrick Perkins for a game, as the NBA has suspended him for his head-butt against the Pelicans.
Kendrick Perkins is always a player who goes all out on the floor, and that’s something that doesn’t always result in positivity. His actions against Tyreke Evans and the New Orleans Pelicans this week have resulted in negative consequences as the NBA has punished Perkins for — well, being Kendrick Perkins.
According to Sam Amick from USA Today, the NBA has suspended Kendrick Perkins one game for his head butt on Tyreke Evans.
What this does is hurts the Thunder in their next game against the Los Angeles Clippers, a game that Oklahoma City needs almost as badly as the Clippers do. The powers in the West have shifted, and it appears that the Thunder and Clippers are down on their luck.
Oklahoma City is also going to be down a man without Perkins, who is always entertaining when going up against Blake Griffin down low. It’s something that is going to make the night even harder for the Thunder and it’s going to be a detriment they need to overcome in a game they must have.
It’s just a one game suspension for Perkins, but it’s one that could end up hurting the Thunder more than they thought.
