The Los Angeles Lakers could very well be looking to trade point guard Jeremy Lin but are unlikely to find solid return on their investment.

Jeremy Lin was acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the 2014-15 season, and he was expected to receive a large role. Unfortunately, he didn’t take advantage of the role early in the season and has found himself coming off of the bench for the majority of the year.

Perhaps he wasn’t able to adjust to playing alongside of Kobe Bryant, but he was very passive and didn’t come close to play his game. It has been a disappointing season to say the least for Lin, but the Lakers may find it hard to trade him thanks to his large salary and low production.

There are plenty of teams out there that could use a point guard who can put up Lin’s type of numbers off the bench, but once again his contract will scare quite a few of them away.

There is no denying that Lin has the ability and potential to become a very solid starting point guard if put in the right situation. He plays better when he has the basketball on his hands, and he needs the green light to take whatever the defense gives him.

Los Angeles will likely try to see if they can get anything for Jeremy Lin ahead of the deadline, and it will all depend on how much they want back in return. If they can get a reasonable deal that will bring them an asset in return, they need to pull the trigger.
