Is Gordon Hayward one of our Fantasy Basketball All-Stars?

With the break in action I thought it would be a perfect time to pick out just who has been a fantasy basketball All-Star. These are a compilation of several players from each conference that have performed at All-Star levels for your fantasy basketball team. If there is one thing that most people seem to hate about the All-Star Game it is the fan vote. I find that extremely funny because that is all most of us are is fans. After developing my list of All-Stars, I realized that there were several discrepancies with who was voted by the fans to play in the real All-Star Game.

Usually the fans will continue to vote guys like Kobe Bryant in even though he was injured and the same goes for Carmelo Anthony. All the while guys like Gordon Hayward will get the snub. I know that Hayward isn’t a super sexy name, but he is certainly producing at an All-Star level. I also think of guys like Ty Lawson who never really even seem to get the love in fantasy circles even though all he does is go out and stack up stats.

There is not a huge difference in my list and the regular NBA All-Stars, but there are some differences.

Next: Let's Start With The Western Conference Guards

Western Conference Fantasy All-Star Starting Guards

Russell Westbrook. PG. player. 149. Russell Westbrook has been one of the more dominant guards in all of fantasy. His explosiveness and attitude make him one of the better players to watch and own in fantasy basketball. There really is no questioning him as a real All-Star or fantasy one.. Point Guard. Oklahoma City Thunder

Golden State Warriors. Stephen Curry. SG. player. 41. Stephen Curry has really become one of my favorite players in all of basketball. It is unfortunate that I mostly play in all keeper leagues and do not own him on one single team. I was a big Curry doubter for years. If you are new to fantasy basketball, you probably don’t remember all of the trouble that Curry had with his ankles. In fact, in several of my leagues he was just referred to as ‘glankles’. The term was obviously to insinuate that he had glass ankles. Well I am not sure what happened, but he does not have glass ankles any more. He has so raised his game that most people don’t even remember his bout with all those injuries several years ago.. Shooting Guard

Western Conference Fantasy All-Star Reserve Guards

169. One could probably argue here that Harden deserves to start over Curry since he is a true SG, and you might be right. However, this is my list, and this is my imaginary fantasy All-Star team so I get to make all the decisions! So there! In all seriousness though, I really do just prefer Curry to Harden in most fantasy formats.. Shooting Guard. Houston Rockets. James Harden. SG. player

Los Angeles Clippers. Chris Paul. PG. player. 77. Here is another guard that certainly could and maybe should have been listed as a starter. The Western Conference is simply stacked with talent, especially at the guard positions.. Point Guard

player. 66. Here is a guy who has certainly earned his way on to this list. He plays in one of the most crowded back courts in all of basketball, and yet produces some incredible numbers. I hope for the Suns’ sake that they are able to lock him up and get Goran Dragic traded for a nice big man.. Shooting Guard. Phoenix Suns. Eric Bledsoe. SG

Ty Lawson. PG. player. 73. Being on a losing team can cause you to be snubbed from the real NBA All-Star team. However, in fantasy sports it does not make you less important. Sometimes it can hurt a player down the stretch or possibly cause them to over think an injury and shut down their season, such as the Knicks did with Carmelo Anthony.. Point Guard. Denver Nuggets

Honorable Mention: Mike Conley, Klay Thompson,

Western Conference Fantasy All-Star Starting Forwards

118. Yes I know he has been hurt and dealt with several injuries this season. I am very aware of everything he has been through this season. But let’s be honest here, he is still Kevin Durant. There really is not much else that needs to be said here at all.. Small Forward. Utah Jazz. Kevin Durant. SF. player

New Orleans Pelicans. Anthony Davis. PF. player. 69. Anthony Davis has been simply incredible this year. This was a tough position to cast as there were really lots of different ways to wrestle this position along with the starting center for the Western Conference squad. This is obviously the way I went, and I am very happy about it. You might have done it differently, and as always we would love to hear about it in the comments below.. Power Forward

Western Conference Fantasy All-Star Reserve Forwards

77. Blake is another one that I toyed with in the starting lineup. However, I used the same formula that I would prefer to own Davis or Cousins over Blake. Blake is as good as they come and is seeming to round out his game a bit more this year. I love him as a player and love to watch the Clippers lob the ball all over the gym.. Power Forward. Los Angeles Clippers. Blake Griffin. PF. player

SF. player. 118. I absolutely love Gordon Hayward and his game. If KD had still been injured, Hayward would be my hands down starting SF on this team. Even as much as I like Klay Thompson, I think if Hayward played on a winning team he would easily had been nominated over him. I think that Hayward is probably the most under rated player in all of the NBA and would easily prefer to own him over several guys heading to the so-called real “All-Star Game’.. Small Forward. Utah Jazz. Gordon Hayward

41. Draymond Green has stepped up his game and stayed a consistent force even despite all of the Warriors regular players coming back healthy. Most analysts, and even myself, seemed to think that once the Warriors got back to full strength that Green would lose his fantasy relevance, but he has just continued to plug right along and prove himself worthy of being on this list.. Small Forward. Golden State Warriors. Draymond Green. SF. player

player. 69. Tyreke Evans has been a very consistent fantasy producer this season. He has been one of the better forwards to own in all of fantasy, especially since he plays the SF spot which can traditionally be fairly tough to fill once you get past the top 3 or 4 guys.. Small Forward. New Orleans Pelicans. Tyreke Evans. SF

Honorable Mention: Zach Randolph, Rudy Gay, Kawhi Leonard

Next: And Now For The Centers

Western Conference Fantasy All-Star Starting Center

67. DeMarcus Cousins is most likely the most talented big man in all of the NBA. However, he may also be the most troubled big man in all of basketball. I will give him credit though, he seems to be keeping his troubles and off-the-court issues to a minimum. You just never know when he is going to be a little teapot and blow some steam at an official or a fan or another player. For the purpose of this list though, it is hard to argue with his placement.. Center. Sacramento Kings. DeMarcus Cousins. C. player

Western Conference Fantasy All-Star Reserve Centers

Memphis Grizzlies. Marc Gasol. C. player. 211. Marc Gasol has followed well in the footsteps of his older brother Pau. Gasol has been tremendous this season and might top the list for those of you in cats leagues or roto. I do love Gasol’s game and think he is one of the better centers in the league, but you just can’t leave uspide like Cousins out of the starting lineup.. Center

29. Yes, yes, yes the ageless Tim Duncan is still on this list.. Center. San Antonio Spurs. Tim Duncan. C. player

Honorable Mention: Serge Ibaka, Dwight Howard

We will be releasing the Eastern Conference Fantasy All-Stars either Friday night or Saturday!
