Willie Cauley-Stein on soft criticism: I’m just going to start dunking on people

Kentucky’s Willie Cauley-Stein has an interesting plan to show people that he’s not soft at all
Coming into the season, Kentucky forward Willie Cauley-Stein was considered one of the best big men in the nation, and for the most part he proves that theory correct. However, there are some people that would maybe like to see him play a little more physical on the inside, with some going out of their way to call him soft.
Well, Cauley-Stein has about had enough of people labeling him as soft and he has a way to show everyone that he’s not. Opponents beware.
In talking to the media following the blowout win over South Carolina on Saturday that pushed the Wildcats to 25-0 on the year, Willie Cauley-Stein addressed the criticism head on and said that he’ll show everyone that he’s far from soft, because now he’s basically just going to start dunking on everything in sight.
Well, that’s certainly one way to go about dealing with the criticism, although it might draw him some unwanted fouls on the offensive end here and there. But hey, the big man is pissed off at hearing he’s soft, so he’s gonna deal with it the way he sees fit.
On this 25-0 run this year, Cauley-Stein is averaging 9.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, numbers that maybe should be a little higher for the junior, which is where a lot of the criticism draws from.
However, if he’s going out there to do some real damage now down the stretch to show people that he’s not soft, then those numbers should see a rise.
