Malcolm Brogdon showed again why he is Virginia’s best player in their win against Pittsburgh.

Just two days after barely surviving against Wake Forest, the Virginia Cavaliers won again. Malcolm Brogdon once again was the star for the Cavaliers. Against Wake Forest, Brogdon forced a turnover with the clock winding down and the Cavs ultimately got the win because of that. All season long, Brogdon has been the Cavs’ best player. London Perrantes was seen as the go-to guy on this roster going into the 2014 NCAA season.

Without Joe Harris, this Virginia team was supposed to lose a beat. However, because of the play from Brogdon, who is one of the best players in the ACC, the Cavs haven’t missed a beat. Even though they’re not perfect, as they have one blemish on their record from a loss at the hands of Duke, the Cavs have played just about as good as anyone not named Kentucky.

With March Madness less than a month away, the Cavs will be looking to win their first National Championship. Virginia hasn’t made the Final Four since 1984 and with a team that plays excellent defense as well as a few excellent players in Brogdon, Perrantes, and Justin Anderson, the Cavs are geared for success in March and they are one of the favorites to make it to Indianapolis in the Final Four.

Against the Pittsburgh Panthers, who were just two days removed from beating the No. 16 North Carolina Tar Heels, Brogdon got the job done. In 2014-2015 season, Brogdon has averaged 14 points, four rebounds, and three assists per game. In this game against Pittsburgh, Brodgon averaged 18 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Brogdon also threw down this sick dunk against multiple Pittsburgh defenders.

With Brogdon playing at the time of his game as well as Anderson, Perrantes, and junior Mike Tobey stepping up when called upon, it wouldn’t come as a surprise at all if the Cavaliers are one of the last teams remaining in the NCAA Tournament. Head coach Tony Bennett has this team playing some of their best basketball and with March Madness and the ACC Tournament approaching, the Cavaliers are going to be a team to watch going forward.
