The Milwaukee Bucks have looked like a playoff contender, and now they are looking to acquire Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Reggie Jackson ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline.

Reggie Jackson is one of the more intriguing names that has been mentioned in trade rumors as Thursday’s trade deadline continues to move closer. The Oklahoma City Thunder are listening to offers for him, and it appears that the Milwaukee Bucks are beginning to show interest in acquiring the young point guard.

Jason Kidd has coached his Milwaukee team into legitimate playoff contention, and they have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2014-15 season so far. They are currently sitting at 30-23 and are the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race. That puts them in a very good position head into the final stretch run of the season.

It would be very intriguing to see them pick up Jackson to help them make their stretch run. They have Brandon Knight as their current starting point guard, but that would give Jackson the chance to slide to the shooting guard position. He is more of a scoring guard, which would make him perfect for an undersized shooting guard.

The report mentions that the Bucks could offer a deal surrounding Jerryd Bayless and John Henson.

Jackson has played in 50 games this season, and has averaged 12.8 points, 4.2 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game. It is expected that he will be demanding big money when he hits free agency after next season, and the Thunder simply won’t be able to afford the type of contract that he is going to want.

Milwaukee on the other hand would have the money to re-sign him, assuming he shows them what they want to see between now and then. Jackson is just 24 years old, and he is already showing some “star” potential.

Obviously the Bucks would be very smart to acquire another player that can help them make a run throughout the remainder of the season. They are a very talented all-around team, but if they want to make some noise they need to add another piece to the puzzle. Jackson would add a scoring punch, along with a playmaker for his teammates.

Not only would he add skills on-the-court, he could also bring some playoff experience to a very young team. Jackson is young himself, but he has had a good amount of experience playing with the Thunder.

There are going to be plenty more rumors surrounding Jackson over the next 24 hours, and the Bucks are likely going to try to get something done.
