10 workout warriors who will shine at the 2015 NFL Combine
By R. Phillips
Shane Ray, DE/OLB, Missouri
Ray needs to put on some weight, but other than that he could have teams drooling this week. He is listed at 6-3 and 245 pounds, but he could carry more weight, so the difference between his combine weigh-in and the one he has at his pro day will be something to watch. That said, he is an incredible athlete.
Ray is explosive off the line and that will help him in the 40-yard dash and the other agility drills. Based on his tape, I’m guessing he’ll throw in very impressive vertical and broad jumps as well. He finished the 2014 season with 65 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks.
Like Dupree, Ray is an explosive athlete without a lot of weaknesses. He needs to get bigger, but the rest of his game is impressive.
