This isn’t a team that’s still rebuilding and taking small steps to become a playoff team once again, they’re going for the playoffs in 2015 and it’s projected to be something very, very intriguing to watch and follow. Can you remember the last time we mentioned the Cubs and playoffs, even the wild-card in the same sentence?
They have the pitching that can guide the Cubs on their way to October baseball for the first time since 2008.
Besides Lester giving them a legitimate ace, Jake Arrieta will look to continue his revival in Chicago while Jason Hammel and Kyle Hendricks will look to keep the pitching staff strong.
Hector Rondon will continue to close things down in the ninth with both Pedro Strop and Jason Motte setting him up.
Now the question is, is THIS the year the Cubs end the curse?
