Former Florida State quarterback and top quarterback prospect for the NFL Draft, Jameis Winston, said Friday that he plans on winning the Super Bowl next year.

Jameis Winston is already making quite the splash at the NFL combine when he told reporters Friday during his press conference that he likes to remain a positive person, and went as far to say that he plans on winning the Super Bowl next year.

Wow, Jameis, pretty bold expectations you’re preparing for yourself.

Jameis Winston is currently ranked as the top prospect in Todd McShay’s NFL Mock Draft, as well as the current FanSided Mock Draft, even ahead of former Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota and former USC Trojans defensive end Leonard Williams who were at the top for most of the past year.

Jameis Winston won the Heisman Trophy, college football’s highest honor, in 2013 as a freshman when he led Florida State to an undefeated championship season after defeating Auburn 34-31 in the 2014 (2013 season) BCS National Championship Game.

This had Jameis surging to the top of all the draft boards going into his sophomore year at FSU, but Jameis threw just 25 touchdowns with 18 interceptions in the 2014 season compared to his 40 and 10 freshman year stats. Regardless, Winston led Florida State to another undefeated season, but their true colors showed when they got walloped in the Rose Bowl by Marcus Mariota and Oregon 59-20.

Marcus Mariota led as the top prospect going into the College Football Playoff Championship Game against Ohio State, but after taking a 42-20 loss, Mariota fell back behind Jameis despite still throwing for 333 yards, two touchdowns and an interception without his top wide receiver, a weaker offensive line as well as some key drops by his receivers throughout the game.

Despite the facts, Jameis is still at the top and he’s not afraid to show it. He’s confident, excited and trying to become the first ever No. 1 overall pick out of Florida State in the NFL Draft. Whether he’ll win the Super Bowl if he’s drafted by the Buccaneers or Titans or wherever he goes, that’s not likely. No rookie quarterback has ever started a Super Bowl game. But, go ahead Jameis and defy the odds.
