Boston Red Sox

Perhaps the best fit and most interested team is the Boston Red Sox, who are in desperate need of acquiring some starting pitching help. Cole Hamels would fit exactly what they need, and he could be the piece they need to take them over the top and being legitimate postseason contenders.

At this point in time, the Red Sox are going to be trotting out a fairly weak starting rotation. They have solid middle of the pack starters in Rick Porcello, Wade Miley, and Clay Bucholz, but they aren’t top end starters. Acquiring Hamels would bring in the ace that they desperately need, and they already have a fairly solid offense.

It would be a very intriguing pickup for the Red Sox, and would make them a very intriguing team in the AL. Everything would depend on whether or not Boston would be willing to part with the type of talent that it would take to bring him on board in the first place.
