Alex Rodriguez had a pretty interesting way of explaining what the first team workout with the Yankees

Slowly but surely Alex Rodriguez is integrating himself back into the Major League Baseball world with the New York Yankees following his one-year suspension for PED use. On Thursday he took a another step in that process by participating in the first team workout of spring training.

So, how did it go for A-Rod? Well, he had a pretty interesting way of explaining how it all went.

When asked how he would explain the experience to his two young daughters, Rodriguez said that the feeling of being out there on the field was comparable to a trip to Disney World.

“It was like going to Disney World,” he said, when asked how he would describe the first day of Spring Training to his daughters via New York Daily News.

Well, considering all that he’s been through the past couple years, not just the past 12 months, of course you can see where being out there on the baseball field feels better than anything he’s felt in a long time.

Also during the workout, with a nice crowd in attendance, Rodriguez received a pretty nice reception from the Yankees fans, something that he was pretty appreciative about.

“I think it was nice,” Rodriguez said. “It feels like I’m a rookie all over again. I’m pretty excited to be playing baseball. It’s been a while since I’ve been in uniform. It actually felt good to put on pinstripes again.”

If he wants to keep those cheers up, though, he’ll need to produce on the field come regular season time.
