Fantasy Football: Will Bishop Sankey Be The Titans Lead Back Next Year?

facebooktwitterreddit

Today we look to answer the question of will Bishop Sankey be the Titans’ lead back next year?

The Titans were a pretty horrible overall team last year and really did not have very many bright spots. Most people and fantasy players were drafting Sankey with the hopes that he would be able to beat out the aging Shonn Greene and assume lead back duties. That never really happened. Sankey may have been the ‘starter’ for a few games last season, but for whatever reason he never really did anything. I am not completely ready to write off Sankey after one year in the NFL, but he has his work cut out for him to earn some time this summer.

I am simply not ready to put much stock into anyone on this Titans team right now. This is a pretty hurtful statement as I am a Titans fan. I am hopeful that the Titans can get some work done this offseason and revamp what was a pretty bad product that they put on the field last year, but I am just not willing to put any stock into anyone wearing the navy and light blue of the Titans.

Sankey may not even wind up getting a fair shake as the Titans have plenty of cap room and will likely look to cut Greene and pursue another RB, whether in the draft or free agency. If I owned Sankey in a dynasty league, I would be looking to move him in almost any kind of deal that I could find. I know his value is low, but if the Titans do sign or draft another back, it will get even lower.

If I was going to take a chance on any of the Titans, it would probably be Kendall Wright in PPR leagues and Justin Hunter in standard leagues. I would not invest much in either as the Titans are like about half of the league and not settled on a starting QB. I am not sure if I would like to see the Titans spend the #2 overall pick on a QB whether it is Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston. Most of the ‘experts’ have the Titans taking Leonard Williams, and that is likely the best pick for them. The Titans will have to find a QB though if any RB or WR wants to have any kind of success on the field or in fantasy leagues.
