DeMarco Murray will test the market, per Stephen Jones
By Josh Sanchez
Talks between the Dallas Cowboys and DeMarco Murray are moving slow, so the star running back will be testing the NFL free agent market.
If Dallas Cowboys Vice President Stephen Jones is to be believed, the team’s star running back, DeMarco Murray, will be testing the open market in a few weeks when NFL free agency begins.

According to FOX Sports, contract talks between the Cowboys and Murray are moving slow, so the team will likely let him see what is out there.
With Dez Bryant likely getting the franchise tag early this coming week, the team really has no option.
“[Murray] is probably going to, you know, get some peace and see what’s out in the market and then we’ll talk and see. I do believe deep down he’d love to stay in Dallas,” Jones told FOX Sports. “We’d love to keep him in Dallas; just see how things play out.”
Last season, Murray had a career year as he led the NFL in rushing with 1,845 yards.
Murray found the endzone 13 times on the ground and carried the ball 392 times. The amount of carries is what could really worry the Cowboys, especially considering the amount of injuries Murray has racked up throughout his career.
If Murray is blown away by an offer on the open market, there is a very good chance the Cowboys never counter and allow him to walk.
However, if Murray doesn’t like what he sees, he could ultimately decide to return to Dallas — who happens to have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL — and attempt to repeat the success he had in 2014.
We will have to wait and see.
