Baltimore Ravens cut ties with Victor Hampton
By Ryan Ratty
Victor Hampton is officially no longer a member of the Baltimore Ravens.
Over the weekend, Victor Hampton was arrested for driving while intoxicated. After driving 100 miles per hour in a 50 mile an hour zone, Hampton was arrested and he failed his DUI test. Because of the arrest, Hampton will face a two-game suspended when the NFL season rolls around.

However, that suspension, as of now, is the least of his worries as the Baltimore Ravens officially released him on Monday.
In an official statement, it was reported that Ravens officially waived him Monday afternoon.
The official statement is below:
"“The Baltimore Ravens have waived CB Victor Hampton from their roster, general manager and executive vice president Ozzie Newsome announced Monday afternoon.”"
A rookie in 2014, Hampton went undrafted. Although he was talented enough to be drafted, his main problems were off-field concerns. In his rookie season, he spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals and the New York Giants, but he failed to see the field.
With his arrest this weekend, it looks as if Hampton may never get a chance to prove himself to a NFL team again. This incident is just another installment to a laundry list of issues he’s had before.
As for the Ravens, they are now without a cornerback and for those that watched the Ravens in 2014, it is a known fact that they had one of the worst secondaries in football. Lardarius Webb struggled tremendously and if it weren’t for Jimmy Smith’s emergence, this group was likely the worst in football. Now without Hampton, the move gives the Ravens even more incentive to draft a cornerback early in this year’s draft class. Also, with some cap space available, the Ravens will have the ability to be aggressive in free agency and make a play for a defensive back.
