Brad Jones and the Philadelphia Eagles have agreed upon a deal.

Over the past few years, the Philadelphia Eagles have never had quality linebacker play. Players like Moise Fokou and Casey Matthews have failed to man the inside linebacker position. Granted, Mychal Kendricks has emerged as a real solid player for the Eagles over the past few years, but he needs help inside and the Eagles were very much aware of that.

It was reported today that the Eagles have made a move to improve their linebacking group.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Eagles have officially signed Brad Jones. While it isn’t a sexy move by any means, Jones is a guy that has been a solid player for the Green Bay Packers over the past few years. In 2014, however, Jones appeared in just 13 games where he made only 18 total tackles. Despite that ugly number, it should be said that Jones had 84 total tackles and three sacks in 2013 and 76 total tackles and two sacks in 2012.

By coming to Philadelphia, Jones will be able to get perhaps the best nutrition and strength and conditioning program in the NFL.

"“From the first day you get here … you kind of realize it’s a different kind of thing they got out here,” Jones, 28, said via conference call. “It’s unique. I wanted to be a part of that. I think the players as well as the staff were cohesively on one path and [share] one goal and that’s to be great,” he said. “I don’t think that attitude is bred in a lot of places. I think it’s unique in that. The staff and coaches, from what I can glean, were constantly trying to put players in the best situation to be productive and be great. I fell in love with that immediately.”"

It’s yet to be certain whether he will have a starting position in 2015, but the Eagles are getting a guy who is in the prime of his career at a cheap price. Jones is a guy that will be able to play a huge role on special teams. Chip Kelly loves Pac-12 players and he got another one in Jones, who is a Colorado product.
