Report: New York Jets want to bring back Darrelle Revis
The New York Jets are interested in bringing back their former Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis. Is there any chance that the Super Bowl champion returns to New York City?
Remember when Rex Ryan was the head coach of the New York Jets and he kept making it a huge deal to sign Darrelle Revis?

What franchise didn’t want Revis on their team? Well when the New York Jets drafted Revis with the 14th pick in the 2007 NFL Draft they had Revis for a total of six years and created one of the best defenses in the NFL.
However, after a while the Jets grew tired of Revis contract demands and it didn’t look like they didn’t want him anymore so he bolted and two years later he won a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots.
After winning his Super Bowl with the Patriots, Revis could become a free agent once again, and guess who’s interested in bringing the future hall of famer, and best cornerback in the league (Sorry Richard Sherman) back to New York City? None other than the New York Jets.
The newest report is that Jets owner, Woody Johnson, is highly interested in bringing the cornerback back to New York City. In fact, the New York Daily News also confirmed the allegation as there are reports that Johnson has had very serious discussions with new general manager Mike Maccagnan to go after Revis if he does become a free agent this offseason.
Revis current team, the New England Patriots, have to make a decision before March 9th. The Patriots are set to owe Revis a $20 million dollar option bonus.
Even though the Patriots are the technically the frontrunner to land Revis (if they give him what he’s owed), it’s been said that chances of them picking up the option is slim to none. If the Patriots don’t happen to negotiate a new long-term contract with Revis, he’s going to hit the open market and have plenty of organizations willing to pay for his services.
For the Patriots, they might have to take the loss. Was 20 million dollars worth another Super Bowl ring? Most people would agree that it was.
To break up a team that just went to the Super Bowl is a laughable idea. Revis’ contract is that of expensive because he’s well worth the money. If the Patriots don’t pony up, the Jets sure will, and then Revis will have to play against his former team twice.
