With the firing of Brian Shaw will Kenneth Faried get back on track?
By now most of you have probably heard about the Denver Nuggets finally parting ways with Brian Shaw. I really kind of feel sorry for Shaw, but at the same time I am really excited for the prospects of the starters and top seven or eight players for the Denver Nuggets. Of course none of us know just how interim head coach Melvin Hunt will handle the rotations. As of right now, it is not certain that Hunt will take over, but according to speculation on Twitter that is what will happen.
Melvin Hunt is expected to be the interim coach. #Nuggets did not shootaround today and plan to address the media late this afternoon.

I would go ahead and prematurely buy into Faried, and I would even think Ty Lawson’s value would increase at this point. If I were in charge of the Nuggets, my primary goal would be to build as much value for my best players as possible so I could trade them for value at the end of the season. At the same time you could possibly even sell high on your Nuggets players like Lawson, Faried, and even Jusuf Nurkic, although with Nurkic you might be better served to let him get healthy.

Another primary factor for Faried getting back on track other than stabilizing his minutes will be to keep him healthy. The Manimal is one of those motor guys who hustles like no one else, and sometimes that can lead to injuries.
Over the last month, Faried is only averaging 24 minutes per game. We have to hope with the new coach that we can add at least 10 minutes per game to that. According to BasketballReference.com Faried’s per 36 minute numbers would have him at 14.9 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.2 steals and .9 blocks. Those are some pretty nice numbers for your fantasy squad. His owner might be just frustrated enough to let him go at a reasonable price even with everyone knowing about the coaching change.
The other Nugget I would be adding is Will Barton. He is really beginning to click with his new team, and to be honest, I don’t understand why he never got any more minutes on such a thin Portland roster. Over his last 4 games Barton is the highest scoring fantasy player for the Nuggets, even over Ty Lawson.
Another player worth a look with the Nuggets is Danilo Gallinari. Gallinari is finally beginning to shake of some rust and get into a bit of game shape and the Nuggets will likely want to see what they have in him before this summer.
As always I preach to you guys, watch the box scores and the minutes distribution so you can be able to react and plan accordingly. If you have any questions then hit the links above for Twitter and we will be happy yo help you in any way possible.
