NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics to target Kevin Love, Greg Monroe
By Josh Hill
Boston Celtics fans are suffering though a bad season, but with a ton of cash to spend this offseason the team could turn it all around quickly.
It’s hard to build a winning team in free agency in the NFL, but fortunes can change in a single offseason for teams in the NBA. The Cleveland Cavaliers went from being the team with the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft to being title favorites thanks to signing LeBron James and acquiring Kevin Love.

LeBron won’t be leaving the team this summer, but the same cannot be said for Kevin Love. After being traded away from Minnesota, Love will have the ability to sell himself to any team in the NBA this summer when he hits free agency and the Boston Celtics are looking to make him their big acquisition that turns their franchise around.
According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, the Boston Celtics have eyes set on top free agent prizes this offseason and will be targeting — among others — Kevin Love and Greg Monroe.
"The Celtics have a ton of cash and are geared up to use it. Target number one is Kevin Love. Target number two is Greg Monroe."
The West Coast kid coming to Boston and turning the franchise around would be great for the Celtics but it’s not a guarantee that it will happen. Love will have plenty of suitors this summer, from the Chicago Bulls to the New York Knicks and everyone in between.
Greg Monroe may be more attainable for the Celtics, but nothing is promised in NBA free agency. Love and Monroe are top targets for just about everyone who needs help in their front court and/or have money to spend.
Boston is an intriguing fit for both, but it will take more than just money to bring on one or both players this summer.
