Rory McIlroy to play Augusta National with Patriots QB Tom Brady

Rory McIlroy is headed on a social trip to Augusta National next week and he’s bring New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
Golfer Rory McIlroy ranks No. 1 in the world after a 2014 where he won two PGA major tournaments, and when you have that kind of prestige, you can take “social trips” down to one of the best creations in golf, Augusta National in Augusta, GA.

While it’s not news for a PGA Tour player to make a trip to Augusta National, it is news when they bring another sport’s most prized jewel.
Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis reported Thursday that McIlroy will be traveling with his father, as well as four-time Super Bowl champion, Tom Brady.
Next week @McIlroyRory will play Augusta National with Tom Brady. A 4-time Super Bowl champ walking the fairways with a 4-time Major champ.

After McIlroy won the British Open and the PGA Championship last season, he added to his two other major victories, the 2011 U.S. Open and the 2012 PGA Championship. The only PGA Tour major that Rory McIlroy hasn’t won is The Masters, which plays at August National each year. McIlroy finished eighth in 2014, his best finish at the major tournament. Rory McIlroy will play two practice rounds, and Brady will join him for one of them.
Reigning Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is no stranger to golf, he had an estimated 8 handicap according to Golf Channel and he’s played in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-AM multiple times.
A four-time Super Bowl champion and a four-time major winner should make for an excellent round at Augusta National.
