Report: New York Jets, Darrelle Revis agree to deal
By Josh Hill
The New York Jets and Darrelle Revis are getting the band back together, as the two sides have agreed to a deal that returns Revis Island to the Big Apple.
Darrelle Revis has had a Hall of Fame career, and it’s a career that has taken him all over the NFL. From his start with the Jets to his vacation to Tampa Bay and his Super Bowl season with the New England Patriots, Revis has just about seen it all.
It’s been two years since Darrelle Revis played for the New York Jets but that is all going to be changing. In keeping with a sports theme of coming home, Revis Island is returning to the Big Apple as Darrelle Revis has agreed to terms with the New York Jets.
Regis returning to the Jets is a true homecoming, as his best years were spent with the Jets but he wasn’t able to capitalize on the personal success. With Rex Ryan gone and Todd Bowles ushering in a new era, there is a chance for Revis to turn the Jets around in a big way.
It’s a huge win for Todd Bowles too, who has experience with handling an elite cornerback thanks to his days in Arizona with Patrick Peterson.
Obviously, Revis is a monster and his return to New York is bringing his career full circle. He has his Super Bowl, he has his massive contract and he now has the chance to right the ship with the Jets in a way he wasn’t able to before.
