According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, the Philadelphia Eagles could look to trade newly acquired quarterback Sam Bradford to the Tennessee Titans.

Chip Kelly pulled off a big trade that sent Nick Foles and draft pick compensation to the St. Louis Rams in exchange for Sam Bradford. It was a deal that not many Philadelphia Eagles fans are happy about.

According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Bradford could very well have been acquired to be trade bait for the Tennessee Titans as the Eagles look to move up for Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.

These rumors are very intriguing to say the least, and it wouldn’t be surprising at all. Considering the fact that the Eagles have been rumored to want Mariota for quite some time, acquiring a quarterback to intrigue a team with a higher draft pick makes sense.

Something has to be coming from the Eagles after their flurry of moves to begin the offseason. They trade star running back LeSean McCoy, but were able to replace him with Dallas Cowboys star running back DeMarco Murray. Foles was expected to be their franchise quarterback a couple of seasons ago, but his broken collarbone seems to have changed their minds.

Mark Sanchez was re-signed as a backup quarterback, with Bradford currently being penciled in as the starter. It just doesn’t seem right that Kelly is interested in changing up his system for an injury-prone quarterback like Bradford. He doesn’t fit into the speed offense that St. Louis likes to run, and it just doesn’t look like a great fit on the outside looking in.

That being said, Kelly knows what he’s doing and it is obvious that he has a bigger plan. Philadelphia was able to make a big splash at the cornerback position, signing former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Byron Maxwell to a long-term deal.

It is going to be very interesting to see what the Eagles end up doing the rest of the offseason leading up to the draft. Kelly would love to bring in Mariota, and while he has publicly said that they don’t plan to pursue him it is hard to believe him 100 percent.

There is a chance that they do view Bradford as their new starter, but it just doesn’t seem quite right.

Expect to hear plenty more rumors about Bradford’s availability in trade talks as the draft continues to draw closer. Philadelphia wants to get back into the playoffs in 2015, and Bradford just brings too many question marks on the table for them to trust him.

Trading him to the Titans would make a lot of sense, and it would give them their young quarterback that fits Kelly’s system that they could build around.
