BAE Index, 3/16/15: Don’t touch LeBron’s ball

Welcome back to the BAE Index.

Don’t touch LeBron’s ball

So during the Cavaliers’ game against the Magic in Orlando, a fan on the sidelines purposefully knocked a loose ball away from LeBron James, who was reaching out for it. The referee called the ball out on LeBron, and understandably, he was pretty upset. Courtside fans trying to interact with players a little bit is fine, as long as they’re not jerks, but actually interfering with game action? This isn’t the Arena Football League. That’s not cool at all. How about next time just sit back, relax, and watch the game?

Anthony Davis does it again

The New Orleans Pelicans fell to the Denver Nuggets in double-overtime on Sunday, but Anthony Davis was a star. He almost recorded a quadruple-double, as he went for an incredible 36 points, 14 rebounds, 9 blocks, and 7 assists. His talent is so, so incredible; and we’re all going to be in for a real treat when he gets proper help around him to run the league. Here’s a sweet alley-oop from Sunday’s action.

Russell Westbrook is never not going as hard as physically possible

Do you think Russell Westbrook ever relaxes? Does he ever just stop going full tilt? I’m not sure he does. When he sleeps, he probably runs out of his house and busts through his neighbor’s walls like he’s the Kool-Aid Man. Westbrook is a basketball version of a tortured Energizer bunny, forever running around and drumming and violently dunking on any poor soul that stands in his way. He can’t stop. He won’t stop. Here’s some video of him in his natural habitat, creating havoc in transition.

Rise of the Shvedder

The last time Alexey Shved attempted a wild runner in traffic, it went about 20 rows deep into the crowd. This time, though, he nails it. Apparently the Knicks can show progress!

Corey Brewer welcomes Blake Griffin back from injury

This is really just a rude sequence altogether. First Brewer just demolishes Griffin on the dunk. Then Brewer tries to flex a little bit and bump Griffin, who in turn just pushes Brewer away from him with full force. Brewer even makes it look worse by flopping a bit. I wonder how much old 80’s and 90’s NBA players feel about this. They always complain about how current players are too nice to each other, so they were probably pretty happy to see this. On a scale of 1-10, they probably gave it half a Charles Oakley.
