Former NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens was officially charged for a January DUI incident earlier today.

Do you know who I am?  are usually not the right words to choose for a famous person after being pulled over, especially if their BAC is over the legal limit.  That didn’t stop Ex-NFL tight end Jerramy Stevens and his wife Team U.S.A. soccer goalie Hope Solo from using that routine after being pulled over last January.

Stevens was charged formally today for a DUI from that incident where it was reported that Stevens was driving with a BAC nearly double the legal limit at .15 percent, according to TMZ.  The incident in question occurred while the two were traveling in a Team U.S.A. soccer van.

Stevens and Solo are no strangers to law enforcement as the two have a history of dealing with the authorities.  Stevens last arrest cam in 2012 for a probation violation.  This violation came not long after a domestic violence incident involving his soon to be wife Solo days before their wedding but did not result in charges being filed.

Before that Stevens was arrested for felony battery in March 2011, and was charged while still a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with possession of marijuana with intent to sell in 2010.

Dating back before those incidents Stevens has several DUI charges and multiple claim of hit-and-run, one of them allegedly involving him fleeing the scene after driving a truck into a retirement home.  Stevens past extends to his High School and College careers as well, where there are less serious documented allegations, including felony assault for kicking a teammate in the testicles.

Solo herself was recently charged in a domestic altercation involving two family members, where Solo was described as “intoxicated and upset” according to reports.  In January those charges were dropped after witnesses failed to appear in court following a court order.

The January DUI incident triggered a 30-day suspension for Solo from the U.S. National team, where she has since then joined the team.  Solo recorded her 81st international shutout six days ago in a United States win over France 2-0.

America’s next games will be a series of exhibition matches in the states, before leaving for the World Cup on June 8th.
