Tom Brady sends a Facebook message to former teammate, VinceWilfork

On Tuesday, the quarterback of the New England Patriots, Tom Brady, sent a warming Facebook message to Vince Wilfork. After 11 very successful years in New England, Vince Wilfork’s option wasn’t picked up by the team and was forced to find a new home. Wilfork announced his signing with the Houston Texans on Monday.

Tom Brady shared a photo of the two teammates, adding the tagline:

“One decade bookended by two rings… To my longtime teammate and friend, Vince Wilfork – you’ll be missed, bud! Take it easy on me in Houston next year! #family”

From 2004 to 2014, Wilfork had a great career with the Patriots. His successes include two Super Bowl championships, as well as being named to five Pro Bowls. In 2o12, the 33-year-old defensive tackle was named a first-team All Pro.

In a season that ended with the team holding the Lombardi Trophy, Wilfork played in all 16 regular season games. He recorded 47 tackles in addition to intercepting one pass.

Brady’s post was found similar to a statement released by Patriots’ head coach, Bill Belichick. On Monday, he stated:

“Few players reached or will ever reach the special level of Vince Wilfork. He is a great champion and one of the classiest people I have ever been around — just a kind, genuine and giving person who was all about our team, football, winning and bringing joy to others. There may have never been anyone at his position with as much strength, toughness, intelligence, instinctiveness and athleticism. He is the best defensive lineman I ever coached, an all-time great Patriot whose place on our team will be missed but whose remarkable career as a Patriot will be remembered forever.”

Another teammate of Wilfork’s, WR Julian Edelman, made a post to Vince, as well. He posted a photo of the two in uniform, while tagging it with one simple hashtag; #truepatriot.

Wilfork sent out a tweet that thanked everyone for their love and support:
