Fantasy Basketball: James Harden Drops 50 And Other News
By Dave Fuqua
James Harden drops 50
James Harden was doing what he does, but tonight he did it in career fashion. The possible MVP candidate dropped 50 points on the Denver Nuggets and threw in 10 rebounds for good measure. Harden has been one of the top options for fantasy ballers nearly all year and he is not going to slow that down now. In one of my leagues that does not penalize for turnovers Harden has been the top player for nearly the whole season.

I suspect there will be a lot of fantasy championship teams with James Harden on the roster. Harden will also likely have to be considered as a top one or two overall pick for fantasy leagues next season. He simply has been that good this year.
Other News and Information
Terrance Jones was taken to the hospital tonight after playing only nine minutes. Jones was still able to toss in 10 points, but at this time we can only assume that the trip to the hospital was precautionary. Stay tuned for more on his status.
There was a whole list of players who sat out on this small four-game night in the NBA and at the worse time possible for fantasy owners who are in the playoffs right now. Among the list of players who missed time tonight include Anthony Davis who tweaked an ankle. Ricky Rubio is also suffering with an ankle and missed Thursday’s action. Justin Hamilton who has been big for fantasy owners lately missed due to an illness.
Also included in the list of players who did not play was Nikola Pekovic who was said to be out for a while. Unfortunately we are left to speculate as to whether or not that means he is out for the season or not. This leaves owners of Pekovic who are in the playoffs in a tough spot. You may be forced to let him go and try to pick up someone who can give you a better chance to make it to the next round of your playoffs.
As usual with this many injuries it opens up opportunities for savvy fantasy owners to pick up and run these players replacements out to give them some added points and stats for their title dreams. Right now the Timberwolves have several players who are producing and have a chance of picking them up from your league’s waiver wire: Chase Budinger (10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists), Zach LaVine (20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 1 block).
As we like to stress here at Fantasy CPR if you will pay attention to the box scores on a nightly basis it will give you a big leg up on your competition and allow you to be the first in your league to react and make the pickup that could propel you to the next round and ultimately the fantasy gold!
