Creighton v. Villanova

In a 2014 regular season game against the 4th ranked Villanova Wildcats, the Creighton Bluejays got off to a blistering start, and Gus Johnson was there to call the game.

The Jays hit nine straight three pointers to start off the game, mostly from the shooting arm of Ethan Wragge. Gus Johnson was able to delight in the game and witness a potential upset in progress, and his voice demonstrated both his phlegm and his excitement for the game up ahead. The Bluejays were able to pull off the upset, running away with a 96-68 victory that helped to bolster Doug McDermott’s Naismith campaign while demonstrating the squad’s considerable supporting cast.

Someone should write a book on the way Gus Johnson says “pure” after every made Creighton three pointer.

He absolutely spits it out. “Pyuah!”
