For the first time in the history of the program, the Ohio State Buckeyes wrestling team has won the national championship.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are your national champions. Following the lead of the university’s football program, the Ohio State wrestling program rose to the top of the collegiate world at the 2015 NCAA Wrestling Championships.

Ohio State entered the final day of competition with a commanding lead over the rest of the field. The Iowa Hawkeyes were second-place in the overall team standings, but they were never able to close the gap.

In the end, it was the Buckeyes who earned their first ever wrestling national championship in the program’s 94-year history.

One of the first people to congratulate the Ohio State wrestling team was head football coach Urban Meyer.

Now, Ohio State will turn their attention to individual titles.

Nathan Tomasello, Logan Stieber and Kyle Snyder are the three Buckeyes who will be representing Ohio State in tonight’s finals at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. You can see the full list of matchups for the 2015 NCAA Wrestling Championships final below.
