Passions are always running high when arch-rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid meet in El Clasico. Ahead of Sunday’s match, the Barcelona faithful revealed an incredible mosaic featuring a No. 12 jersey.

Some gorgeous shots from the Camp Nou:

The two clubs, who are consistently at the top of the La Liga table, met for the 263rd time across all competition on Sunday. Barcelona’s 2-1 victory gives it an 108-96-58 advantage all time in the rivarly.

Luis Suarez scored a fine goal in the 56th minute to ultimately give Barcelona the advantage. Cristiano Ronaldo added a tally in the 31st minute for Real Madrid, while Jeremy Mathieu scored Barcelona’s first goal early in the first half.

Barcelona now stands four points clear of Real Madrid for the La Liga championship. Real Madrid looked to have the better run of form early, but Barcelona’s attack of Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar has proven too tough for other teams in Spain to handle.

The two teams are not scheduled to play again domestically this season, which will make it very difficult for Real Madrid to catch up. However, both have reached the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League, setting up a potential titanic El Clasico in the semis or final.

Real Madrid will first have to beat city rival Atletico Madrid. Barcelona will take on Paris Saint-Germain yet again.
