The Miami Dolphins will talk with Michael Crabtree and Greg Jennings.

A week ago, the Miami Dolphins traded away Mike Wallace in an attempt to clear cap space and let Brian Hartline sign with the Cleveland Browns in free agency. As a result, it really comes as no surprise that the Dolphins are in the market for wide receiver help, which is something they’re trying to fix as they comb through the crumbs of free agency.

According to Trey Wingo of ESPN, the Dolphins are active in their receiver search and they will contact Michael Crabtree and Greg Jennings.

As of now, the Dolphins’ receiving corps consists of Jarvis Landry, Kenny Stills, Rishard Matthews, and Matt Hazel. Although he made strides in 2014 as a rookie and he has plenty of upside, Landry can’t be depended upon as a No. 1 receiver.

Ryan Tannehill will be entering the third year of his NFL career and although he has yet to do much in his career, he still has a ton of potential to do great things for a long time in this league. However, to reach that potential, he will need some quality weapons around him, and the Dolphins’ current receiving group is not going to cut it.

In Crabtree or Jennings, the Dolphins would get an experienced receiver with a history of making big plays. Of the two, Crabtree is the younger option, but he will also come at a higher price.

At around $5 million a year, Crabtree wouldn’t be a bad signing, but Jennings makes more sense as he is older and more experienced. Jennings would be a great mentor to younger receivers like Landry and Stills.
