Joey Casselbury was cut from his college baseball team following a negative tweet towards Mo’ne Davis.
When the Mo’ne movie eventually airs on the Disney channel, one former Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania baseball player will be sure to miss it. First baseman Joey Casselberry was cut from the school’s baseball team following this offensive tweet on the 20th of March.
Casselberry was cut from the team the following day, according to a Bloomsburg Huskies official athletic Twitter account, after criticizing Mo’ne on twitter in light of her upcoming movie “Throw Like Mo”.
Davis was a lights out pitcher in this past Little League World Series, making many boys from all across the country swing and miss. Mo’ne has plans going forward to play college basketball to further her athletic career.
Davis had an excellent year in 2014 where she was named AP Female Athlete of the Year and appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated. She also scored a few points on Kevin Hart in this past Celebrity All-Star game during the NBA’s All-Star weekend.
What’s next for Casselberry is uncertain, as his college baseball career maybe over, based on if a school he tries to transfer to will look the other way with this incident.
Casselbury has played for the Bloomsburg Huskies for two seasons and appeared in 91 games where he has a .305 batting average with one home run and 49 runs batted in.
