Chicago Bulls power forward Pau Gasol went on Sesame Street to “coach”.
Pau Gasol hasn’t been in Los Angeles for about a season now, yet he found a way to make some time for Hollywood, or at least the kids version.
The Spaniard speaks perfect English in this video of him “coaching” on a new Sesame Street episode.
It is odd given that Pau is a player, not a coach. Then again, Abby Cadabby isn’t exactly ready to enter the NBA. She only needs basic fundamental technique coaching, not NBA-level Xs and Os.
Of course once Abby starts getting the hang of dribbling, her friend pipes in and determines she too wants to learn from Coach Pau. Needless to say, it is cute and fun.
But Gasol and his Bulls are in the middle of a tight playoff race. This sort of thing coming out in the middle of season needn’t happen. I mean NBA players watch Sesame Street right? Now they’ll have fodder to talk trash with against Pau.
Or, it’s a harmless fun thing for the 34-year-old Pau to do. After all, Gasol is known as a children’s activist. His appearance on Sesame Street simply plays into that important part of his life.
