Former Wisconsin football player J.J. Watt is decked out in gear repping his alma mater in advance of tonight’s Sweet Sixteen game against the North Carolina Tar Heels.

J.J. Watt may go down as the greatest football player to come out of the University of Wisconsin and he also happens to have some incredible school spirit.

When Watt isn’t busy sacking NFL quarterbacks, tackling running backs in the backfield, deflecting passes, running back fumbles and interceptions for touchdowns and catching touchdowns on offense as a goal line tight end, Watt loves to show support for the Wisconsin basketball team.

Wisconsin is taking on North Carolina tonight in the Sweet Sixteen with a trip to the Elite Eight on the line and they have the support of the greatest defensive player in the NFL in Watt who rocked some Wisconsin gear prior to tip off.

Check out the picture below, courtesy of Watt’s Twitter page.

He looks ready to get some action against a talented North Carolina front court, so if Bo Ryan needs a physical presence in the Wisconsin front court he should see if No. 99 for the Houston Texans can give him a few minutes.

Heck, UNC fans had Julius Peppers come off the bench and contribute meaningful minutes before his potential Hall of Fame career took off at the next level.

Frank Kaminsky is up to the task as a Wooden and Naismith candidate but if couldn’t hurt to have Watt help box out some Tar Heels in tonight’s Sweet Sixteen action.

If only he had some eligibility remaining…
