Australian golfer Aaron Baddeley sort of hit a hole in one Thursday at the Valero Texas Open, but there was a catch.

The first round of the Valero Texas Open kicked off on Thursday, and with plenty of wind, it make it a tough environment for golf where only 12 golfers finished under par after the round. One of those golfers was Aaron Baddeley, and how he got there is pretty crazy.

On the 17th hole of TPC San Antonio, a 336-yard par 4, Aaron Baddeley knocked his first shot into an unplayable shot, forcing him to take another shot from the tee box, but it would technically be his third shot. Well, somehow, Baddeley was able to knock it in the hole from 336 yards. But instead of being the second person in PGA Tour history to hit a hole-in-one on a par 4, Baddeley was given a simple birdie.

Unfortunately, there is no video of this amazing event.

After the round, Baddeley was mostly just disappointed he didn’t get an actual hole-in-one.

"“I just thought I’d just hit it straight and so I hit it and started walking and then heard the crowd going nuts,” Baddeley said. “I was like, wait, I just made birdie. I played really nice for the majority of the day. I just said to myself it was the wrong shot. Hit a straight one. It was straight downwind, get it going straight, it will go straight. So I hit the second one and said, man, why didn’t I do that the first time? And it rolls up and goes in.”"

Unfortunately for Baddeley, he’s not a simple amateur golfer who can just tell everyone he knows he hit a hole in one on a par 4. Consequences of being a player on the PGA Tour, I guess.
