WWE Rumors: Ronda Rousey and The Rock could form a tag team, destroy the world
By Josh Hill
UFC star Ronda Rousey is on top of the world right now, but could she be eying a bigger role with the WWE in the future?
It seems that Ronda Rousey can do no wrong — proof of that was seen on Sunday night at Wrestlemania 31 in San Francisco. Rousey came out for a surprise appearance with her Furious 7 co-star, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and the crowd ate up every single second of the action.
It was a crossover that we were dying to see and now that it has happened, it may end up becoming a recurring theme in the WWE storyline.
Rousey tweeted out a cryptic message to her followers on Twitter that seems to suggest her appearance at Wrestlemania is only the start of her time in the WWE.
To further the rumors along, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that there could be something in the works for Wrestlemania 32 next year in Dallas. This would see Rousey and The Rock form a tag team and basically take over the world — because how could they not?
Rousey is a natural born killer both in the octagon and in show business. Her fighting career won’t last forever and her reign over the UFC will eventually come to an end. But she has such potential beyond the Octagon that it’s hard to see her not capitalizing anyway that she can.
She looks to be following the career trajectory that The Rock has taken, where she dominates her profession and then moves on to be a Hollywood action star that makes bank at the box office. It’s what Dwayne Johnson has been able to do and he seems to be taking on Rousey in a mentoring role.
The model that Rousey should follow to make sure she stays on top of her game has been perfected by The Rock. He was just a WWE star, but he’s become a billion icon in Hollywood — and Rousey can repeat his success if she follows the right steps.
Part of that might be to cut the WWE in on her popularity, as she hasn’t once given people anything they don’t want and her Wrsetlemania stint was icing on the cake. She’s on the right path, and it appears that Rousey can do no wrong in being the crowd pleaser everyone enjoys her as.
