One of the big reasons for the Mavericks victory was Monta Ellis, who hit big shot after big shot.
Rajon Rondo led the Mavericks with 10 assists, and assisted Ellis on one of those big shots in the fourth quarter.
Rondo driving at the top of the key, threw a powerful yet smooth bounce pass to a wide open Ellis in the corner.
Ellis would knock down the three and extend the Mavericks advantage to eight at the time.
Rondo’s biggest strength is passing, and he had no hesitation at throwing a pass between two Thunder defenders that were closing in on the play.
Going into the game, the Thunder were closing in on the Mavericks for the No. 7 seed in the conference. With the win, the Mavericks went back up four games on the Thunder as the season winds down.
It was an exciting game in Oklahoma City that featured plenty of big shots. The three in the corner by Ellis off of a beautiful pass, might have been the biggest.
